This was our first visit to 619 Ocean View. We were looking for a nice place to have dinner with friends. The wait staff ws s friendly and accomdating. We enjoyed the appetizers rock shrimp and sea scallopes. For the meals we had the scallops, grouper and wild boar (which had a unique taste). For dessert we had the chocolate with caramel and sea salt, which complemented each other nicely. Overall the experience was very pleasant and we look forward to going back.

The ocean view from the deck was awesome. Service top notch. Highly recommend the salmon. It has a horseradish, mustard, honey sauce that is out of this world! Brussels sprout slaw is worth trying. Skip the risotto, dry and no flavor. But this place is definitely worth trying- sit outside and enjoy the view!

Fabulous location. Great old-fashioned service. The food was absolutely delicious. The Scallops were the best I've ever had, and the have this dish down perfect! Very romantic and a fine dining experience.

Food is not trendy, but everything is done very well. It is one of the few restaurants in Jax that takes advantage of the beautiful beach view (which is really sad, but not relevant to this review). I eat the same thing every time: duck confit- a little greasy, but the raspberry sauces provides a great balance, flounder and mashed potatoes- simple, served in butter, and the caramel gelato encrusted in pretzels- so simple yet seriously awesome. Besides the food, they make an excellent mojito, which is best enjoyed on the outside deck.

The sea scallop appetizer and pretzel rolled ice cream dessert were fantastic, as were the lamb chops and tortellini as main courses. Romantic setting, lovely evening.

I am not sure how this Restaurant got such great reviews... My husband and I went there New Years Eve for a romantic dinner and had called ahead to make sure they took the restaurant.com gift certificate for that night. When we got there, everyone was running around and we stood at the entrance for a good 5-10 minutes while they fought about a table assignment that was not even ours - VERY bad first impression for some place considered fine dining. Once we were finally sat, we began looking at the menu. The items we saw online for the menu were stripped down to basic food items and there were very few choices. The normal menu was still behind that nights menu and you could see that everything was changed to be more expensive just for the night. With very few choices - my husband got the Salmon and I got the chicken, both with broccoli and potatoes. When we got the food, it was probably the worst food I had ever had out. The chicken had no flavor, the broccoli was overcooked and two very thin pieces. The potatoes were barely there as well. For a $32 chicken dish, it was not what I expected at all. I did however get a glass of wine which was delicious and my husband got a Tom Colin's. Our bill was $120 for a less than Applebee's quality in my opinion. I was so very very disappointed. The saving grace was we had the $50 off - but when we gave it to the server, they let us know that it was not accepted on New Years. This is NOT what we had been told before we ate, when we called. I attempted to call to talk to a manager and was told I would be called back and never got any call back at all. Save your money and go anywhere else than this restaurant...or go for a drink here and then find much better dinner elsewhere. Trust me that your money is better spent elsewhere. The meal was not worth $70 let alone $120. Overpriced and bland. I seriously believe I would have been happier with Chinese take out and a nice bottle of wine over the awful food we were served.

Never heard of this place prior to finding a $50 certificate on Resturant.com . Glad I went for it. It was evening so there wasn't much of an Ocean View of which to speak of, however the moon did allow us to grab glimpses of the Atlantic. There was a very laid back vibe for what many would consider a higher end restaurant and that fit with both the location and motif. There were 5 of us and we sampled several appetizers along with the entrees and deserts. My wife's Filet stuck out as the definite winner of the evening, and the only thing I was slightly unhappy with was the creme brulee (it was too soft for my liking). Service was wonderful, and management came over several times to speak with us. Parking was painless, as well with a lot directly across from the entrance. As a final note, we had a child with us and not only did they have food for him, but they were welcoming of children which is a nice touch in a place with $30 plus plates.

I was so involved in conversation with a cousin I rarely get to see, that I've almost forgotten the food, but not because it wasn't very good. As I recall, we were all impressed by the taste and quality of all the dishes we ordered. They have a good wine list, so we enjoyed two bottles and talked until we were the last people in the place. Next trip to the area, we're going back!

Great food. Incredibly knowledgable and friendly service. The scallops were honestly the best scallops I've ever had in my life.

We've been retired and traveling in an RV for 15 years--coast to coast and border to border, and have been to hundreds of restaurants. 619 Ocean View Restaurant is a very special place. There is free restaurant parking at an attended parking lot across the street. We went up a short flight of stairs, then through a door to another short stairway to a spectacular view of the beach through continuous picture windows. Great ambience with comfortable seating, soft relaxing background music. Full bar. Interesting and varied recipes with entrée prices ranging from $23 to $45. We ordered the Parma Scallop from the regular menu and the Grilled Swordfish from the specials menu. Both were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. For dessert, the Crème Brulee was the best we have EVER had anywhere. Portions are generous; we took half of each home for a leftover meal. Perfect service by professional waiter. One of our all-time favorite restaurants!

619 Ocean View is part of the Cabana Club, a members only beach club in PVB. Sawgrass Marriott actually owns Cabana. As I disclosed in another review, I used to work there. However, my opinion is strictly based on the wonderful food and service. The chefs are great here. The food quality is always top notch! The seafood selections are my favorite. Great wine list is also available. Last but not least, please dine here when you can appreciate the amazing and uninterrupted ocean view!!

I really wanted to like this restaurant. There are very few places to eat on the beach in the the Jacksonville area, which is horrible because the beach is one of jewels of the area. Combine that with a dining scene that is in it's infancy, and the odds are that this restaurant will not impress. I'll give you the details, and you decide. There is no getting around the fact that the view is nice. You're on the beach, so what's better than that. It's not the best beach view, but it's nice. The meal started out with stale bread. It wasn't completely stale, but part of it was inedible. We got three appetizers, and there was nothing impressive about them, in fact they were very bad. A tomato salad that tasted very bad. The calamari was lightly fried and chewy; you could get that anywhere. And a tomato and blue cheese dish that was just sad. The highlight was my rack of lamb, but the sides tasted funny also. The wine was overpriced The cappuccino left a horrible taste in my mouth. Don't eat here. The service is good, but they don't care what they serve. Actually, whey my wife asked our waiter if the wine was good, his response was "all wine is good." Good knowledge dude. Nothing there was worth the money. I actually felt like telling the couples that were walking in to turn around before the waste a hundred bucks (at least.)

Very good restaurant. The food was very good (almost great, but not quite) and the service was excellent. Our table had two appetizers (fried calamari, duck croquettes). I thought they were pretty good, but everyone else at our table really liked them a great deal. I thought the calamari was a bit over-breaded, and that the croquettes were a bit overdone, but I was in the minority with that opinion. For the main course, I had a very good osso bucco dish with an excellent parmesean polenta side. Others at our table had a Maine lobster (very good), fried flounder (excellent) and grilled mahi (very good). Their fried spinach was a highlight as a side dish. Their desserts were all very good and made in-house. I'd recommend the pretzel-covered ice cream. It's a nice mix of sweet and savory that was fun and very tasty. The service was excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, prompt but not hovering. My only complaint is the fact that all bills at 619 Ocean View are auto-grated (18%), which I always find very insulting.

Had brunch here for mothers day. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Food was good not great. A little pricey for the menu items. Views are great! Certainly a good place to take visitors for a great view and pretty goo food. Giving the 4 star rating base on service an view. Food alone would be a 3.

Great food and great view - a great combination! Their mojitos are awesome too (and large!). Everyone in my party was pleased with their food and the experience and would go back again in a second!
